Rocky is responsible for supporting the Performance Matters strategy, product, and service offerings for school districts in the southern region of the United States. He also partners with Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, and Product Management to align and deliver product and services to meet the needs of current and future clients.
Rocky has served 20 years in K-12 education as a paraprofessional, teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal at the elementary and secondary levels. He has led three schools to award-winning status, garnering the Distinguished Title I School Award seven consecutive years and the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement Bronze Award for School Improvement. Rocky has been recognized personally for his professional and civic leadership, being awarded by organizations such as The United Way, Leadership Georgia, Retired Teachers of Georgia, and Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement. With topics ranging from teacher leadership development to RtI, he has presented his curricular and organizational work at workshops, symposiums, and conferences through the country for organizations such as SEDL and The Schlechty Center.
Passionate about student success, Rocky believes in the strategy of assessment for learning to improve academic performance. He began his college career as a History Pre-Law major at Morehouse College before earning his Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University; Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Augusta University; Education Specialist in Education Leadership and Doctor of Education in Education Administration, each from Georgia Southern University. His dissertation, “Lessons from a Rural Georgia Principal on Developing Professional Learning Communities,” describes his support for personalized professional development for educators and his commitment to being known as a leader of learners.
Rocky is married to the former Deena Jones, and they have three children; Keldridge, Brendan, and Logan; and four grandchildren; Haven, Cayden, Karson, and Breylen.
